Donated Police Dogs Roasted Alive in hot Car

My first reaction to seeing this was one of absolute SHOCK and HORROR!
How could anyone be so stupid as to leave any dog in a car in a heatwave?

Two donated German Shepherd Dogs, left in a Police vehicle, in a Police car park, outside a Police building, by a Police Officer was simply a staggering neglect of duty, and beggars belief!

The fact that they were donated Shepherd Dogs, and trained at a large expense for Police duties, just makes this a criminal act of neglect.
Many comments have been made as to what people would 'like to do' to the Police Officer responsible for this - I just hope that this will be investigated by the Animal Welfare Groups, made sure that official procedures and checks are put in place to make quite certain that this is NEVER - EVER likely to happen again.
This case should NOT be 'swept under the carpet' and those responsible should be dealt with the FULL Force of the LAW.
PC Mark Johnson 40, was due to attend court to face charges of causing unnecessary suffering but a doctor's certificate was provided saying he was unfit to face trial.

I've had German Shepherd Dogs for nearly 40 years, and I am appalled at this wilful act of negligence by the Police Officer involved.

update:
Pc Mark Johnson, 39, denied the charge when he appeared before Nottingham magistrates on Monday and a trial date has been set for 22nd-25th February next year.

German Shepherd Hero Dog Cloned

Have you seen this news report about Trakr, the German Shepherd Dog?
Trakr died aged 15 years and with his owner James Symington was a hero at 9/11 after the terrorists attack in New York, finding the last survivor from the World Trade Center.
James has recently taken home 5 cloned german shepherd puppies from Trakr, who had his DNA taken and cloned. Former policeman James said "it it hoped that the pups will follow their famous father's trail - they are about to be trained as rescue dogs".
Now to anyone who has owned a German Shepherd Dog and lost it from either injury, illness or old age - I don't have to tell you about the anguish and loss that you feel (brokenhearted). So imagine just how proud Trakr's owner James must feel - to have 5 'clones' of Trakr to 'carry on the line' and to remind him of Trakr's legacy.

German Shepherd Dogs - Why You Should Have One

The German Shepherd is unlike other dogs, he is the 'Prince of All Breeds' - more than just a pet he is handsome, always alert and ready by your side. He's loyal, faithful and as they say........ he is "Man's Best Friend".

Unlike other dogs, you don't carry him around and cuddle him like a baby, and you don't have to 'dress him up'!

He is proud, reliable, easy to train, and very dependable, and what's more because he is so intelligent he is easy to communicate with by basic obedience commands. You need to build a relationship with your German Shepherd Dog and after training your Shepherd, you will find that he anticipates your commands and is ready for action. Be warned, they don't like sitting around - they need regular exercise and attention.

They are great with children and I guess they sort of bind the family together.

We've had German Shepherds for many years and have loved every one of them.
